And then there were (more) cows.

After getting through tropical storm Andrea, the sun came back today and summer reclaimed the metro DC area. It was too gorgeous to stay inside, so Joe and I hopped in the car and drove north to a pick-your-own strawberry orchard. We enjoyed a picnic lunch first, then set off to fill our baskets. We made out with two containers full, half of which I've already mashed, bagged, and stuck in the freezer (a trick I learned from Grandpa- we'll be enjoying Strawberry Shortcake even well into blueberry season!).

Here's a look at my loot! They tasted delicious with dinner tonight!

When we made it back to the market located at the front of the property, I was immediately sucked in by all of the cows on display. I felt as though I had entered into a TJ Maxx- I just didn't know where to look, there was so much around me! I fell in love with one particular cow butter dish. And luckily, I was also able to find it online for you! This of course started some intense online shopping for more kitchen cows....

Cow Butter Dish: $11.99 from FYKitchen.com

This one is my favorite. I've owned for several years (and have seen pretty much everywhere) the standard white cow creamers, but hadn't seen the butter dish before. It has so much rustic charm and yet the bright white feels more modern- I love it! Meanwhile, the internet window shopping continued... =)

Set of six glasses, $33 from potterbarn.com
I'm actually really interested in these tumblers, too. We've gotten a lot of cracks lately in our glasses, and it seems I never have a complete set. These seem really practical, not a bad price, and would go with my whole 'subtle' cow kitchen theme. I would like to emphasize that I do NOT have a black and white or cow-print kitchen- we actually just painted it sage green (err...well by 'we' I mean 'Dad'. Thanks, Dad!). You can have a theme without letting it dominate the room!

Being out on the farm today, surrounded by deliciously colorful produce and, of course, cow paraphernalia, really made it feel like summer. Wishing all my readers a fantastic start to summer!
